Jacob is enthusiastic about joining MEVO as Field & Volunteer Manager.  From a young age, he was fascinated by the diversity of life on our planet, and that curiosity has developed into a passion for its preservation.  In his undergraduate studies at Binghamton University, he focused on the interconnectedness of the social and environmental issues facing us today.  He believes that through responsible land management, specifically regenerative, low-impact agricultural practices, we can build towards an equitable future in which we sustainably coexist with our natural environment.

Jacob’s introduction to farming was with MEVO in summer 2018, where he volunteered at Fresh Roots Farm with the Rockland Conservation and Service Corps.  Not long after, he traveled to Takaka, New Zealand to work and stay at their community gardens, which is where he first found his inspiration in farming and food.  From there, Jacob went on to spend a season growing at the VINES Binghamton Urban Farm and another at Cropsey Community Farm in New City, NY.  His goals are to share his love of the Earth with others and someday manage his own piece of land.

Besides growing food, some of Jacob’s interests include spending time outdoors, playing music with his friends, cooking, rock-climbing, and practicing mindfulness through yoga.
