Kristen Arnold (she/her/hers) is joining MEVO as the Trail Crew Leader for the 2024 season. She is a climate change, food systems and sustainability specialist with six years of professional experience across the United Nations, private sector, and non-profit organizations. Most recently, Kristen served as the climate policy lead at the UN World Food Programme (WFP) in Rome, Italy. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from New York University in 2019. Her prior farming experience includes volunteering at an urban organic farm in San José, Costa Rica, and tending to her family’s backyard vegetable garden of kale, cucumbers, and surprise squashes that pop up from homemade compost.
When she’s not at MEVO or adventuring around the world, Kristen hikes the northern New Jersey trails she’ll be helping to maintain with MEVO this summer, cooking and sharing meals with friends, bouldering, running polar plunging, or anything else that brings her outside. She also writes and edits a newsletter she co-founded called Food People, which aims to foster a global community to discuss all topics related to food.
