Sam Gautier
Farm Assistant Manager
sam@mevo.org
Sam is the Farm Manager Assistant in training at MEVO, where he is responsible in assisting with daily operations at Fresh Roots and Lovewell Farms. Sam earned his Master's Degree in Public Health Nutrition from Rutgers in 2024. It was there that he was exposed to a systems framework for thinking about better food and healthy eating. At MEVO, he is excited to work towards positive change at the ground level: growing food in a way
that regenerates all parties involved, and offering it locally. He hopes that you will taste, smell, feel, and see the difference in what MEVO grows.
Sam is honored to count himself among the members of the Honorary Society in Public Health, Delta Omega. He was also the winner of the Werner O. Schilling Endowed Scholarship and the Professional Development Scholarship, both for excellence in public health nutrition fieldwork, and he was selected to receive the Bernard D. Goldstein Award, which is Rutgers; the highest honor
for scholarship and leadership in public health nutrition. He has served on the Steering Committee for Green Acre Community Garden, on the Passaic County Food Policy Council, and as a volunteer for the New Jersey Food Democracy State of the Food System Symposium. Recently, he collaborated with the Rutgers Cooperative Extension to author a collection of recipes for people living with food insecurity. He looks forward to continuing to work alongside his amazing peers at MEVO to bring you the best of what the earth has to offer.
When not at MEVO, you can find Sam in the kitchen, behind the drums, or perhaps lost in the woods. If the latter is the case, then please send help!
